ASTANA The capital of Kazakhstan is quite symbolic in its location: it is situated right in the geographic center of Eurasia and is "open" to all directions of the world. There are many places to visit in the capital.
Complex "Astana-Bytertech" (bytertech ????? poplar in Kazakh) is a unique composition, which is also the symbol of the city. It is made of metal, glass and concrete, stands 105 meters tall with an observation area at 97 meters, and weights over 1000 tons. The giant ball, 22 meters in diameter, located at the top of this construction, is made of special chameleon glass, which changes color depending on the sunlight.
Entertainment center "Duman" will make you feel in different places at once: the cupola hall will show you different corners of the world (the Statue of Liberty, the Great Chinese Wall, etc.); you will have a chance to watch the sharks swim by in just a few inches from you as well as watch a water show in the unique aqua theater; the movie theater will make you feel like you are in the middle of the action on the screen thanks to the special glasses and sound system.
Ethno-memorial complex "Atameken" is an open air museum, which represents the miniature reproductions of the 14 main objects of Kazakhstan regions, Almaty and Astana. This site is open from May to October.
